360° Virtual Reality | Flying through Mason Street | Paddington and Mason Street Tunnels images
I first joined the Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels as a member in early 1999, becoming a Trustee in September that same year. It has been a privilege as well as being a fascinating experience, volunteering for “FoWT” during the last 25+ years.
The Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels, have always had an amazing and dedicated team of volunteers at it’s heart. Each and every volunteer playing their own vital part in the running of the charity, from essential research of Joseph Williamson and his tunnels, to the digging team. The diggers, who love getting their hands dirty, emptying many tons of rubble and infill out of the filled chambers of Paddington and Mason Street. During the BigDig, the enjoyment and excitement we had, making the many fascinating discoveries of long lost sections of the subterranean structures and the many hundreds if not thousands of artifacts found within Joseph Williamson’s underground world.
What a voyage of discovery this has been…
I have loved documenting the progress being made each day, by our dedicated volunteers, during our BigDig. The Discoveries we made, being many new chambers, features and artifacts, within the Williamson’s Tunnels system.
This is just a small selection of the many hundreds of images, taken by me over a 25 year period. The main photo gallery on the Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels web site contains these, and many more of my images taken over many years Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels Gallery.
The two grand chambers of the Williamson’s Tunnels. The incredible, cathedral chamber in Paddington and the Banqueting Hall, beneath Joseph Williamson’s House Site, Mason Street. Both chambers are photographed from above.
